The "house in the arch" is located in Gombereto, a quiet village at 4 km from Bagni di Lucca in the Val di Lima and at 400m. above sea level. This touristic unknown area in the northwest of Tuscany is characterized by tranquility, natural beauty and respect for the past. Both nature and art lovers will enjoy themselves here, without forgetting the sportsmen. Mountain biking, rafting and hiking are extensively practiced here.


Our sunny holiday home is located on the beautiful and rustic village square. Through a passage in the shape of an arch (un arco) you walk under the house to the church and the vast chestnut forests around the Monte Prato Fiorito. Along a forest path (800 m.) You reach the higher situated San Gemignano, where you will find a grocery store (alimentari).

 

Gombereto is 9 km from the railway station of Fornoli - Bagni di Lucca, 30 km from Lucca and 60 km from Pisa Airport. Florence Airport is 95 km away.

The location of the house on the town square of this characteristic village introduces you to the traditional Italian lifestyle. The spacious house is furnished in a rustic way and is a clean and comfortable accommodation for your vacation. Thanks to the orientation to the south and the many windows, the house is very bright and open, unlike most traditional village houses in this region. The house is also perfectly located for relaxing on the patio or on the quiet square in front of the house. There is parking at 80 m, but short term parking (loading & unloading) near the house is possible.


Casa nell’arco consists of a living-dining room with balcony, from which you have a spectacular view over the valley. The lounge is in front of the fireplace. You will also find a DVD player, books and family games for guest use. The renovated kitchen is fully equipped, including a washer/dryer, oven and fridge with freezer compartment. Through the double doors you go to the patio, suitable for dining and reading. On the upper floor you will find the bathroom with toilet, bidet, basin, shower and infrared panel. There are 3 bedrooms: 2 doubles, one with a double bed and beautiful view, the other with two single beds. Bedroom 3 has a bunk bed. There is a table football game in the renovated basement.
